This is based on a collection of really good research papers I’ve processed because mobility is one of the topics I’m very interested about in the context of the environmental crisis and what I see as implications of planetary boundaries. Of course, since I have always been a big fan of mobility, finding many peaceful moments to read and write about topics during my trips (mainly done by train these days because once you know, it’s hard not to think about how you do certain things).
As part of the test I did choose to not rename some files in a meaningful way, keeping chains of random characters and numbers as file names because I wanted to see if the AI would use the title of the article or the name of the file to make references to sources in the podcast episode it generated. Spoiler alert: it uses file names and that gives a special kind of machine charm to parts of this episode :-)
I’m not sold on the idea that this podcast format can validly make a contribution to my understanding of the content. Reading myself remains a much much better way of making sense of the big picture of mobility as a service and writing about it is by very far the best way for me to consolidate a coherent framework of understanding of the topic. That’s something that is needed if one is to teach a topic, which is also why teaching is sometimes a great way to learn.
Anyway, you might want to listen to the whole episode or not. I find the ability of NotebookLM to generate this kind of stuff quite fascinating.
